The master of communication aims to expand the student's knowledge map and cultivate professionals in the field of communication in the future. Students are required to consult with the academic advisor and approved by the College of Communication, they can organize their own special fields. 

(Admitted Class of Academic Year 2021)

The Master's program is structured around concentrations, with students choosing their own concentration in their first year. Once they've completed the College's requirements, core curriculum, and requirements for their concentration, students can register for seminars of their choice. The Master's Program of Communication jointly offer seven primary concentrations, as well as an online Master's program in international communications that provides professional development to individuals already working in the field.

Communication and Culture

The program emphasizes the cross-disciplinary research which aims at exploring, analyzing, and studying the mechanisms and results of interactions between various communication fields. The program helps students to develop a solid understanding in related communication theories.

Journalism and Communication 

The program provides trainings in reporting and writing, storytelling, and cross-media production, building fundamental skills in brainstorming, composition, information gathering, and presentation. The program also places great emphasis on the development of professional ethics.

Imagination: Fundamental and Application

The program aims at training young professionals to produce content for traditional and emerging new media. It teaches students fundamental and advanced production skills, and hones their ability to think creatively, critically, and independently. It also seeks to broaden students’ understanding of the humanities and arts and narrative theories.

Introduction to Telecommunications

The program explores the media ecology and investigates its evolution from the policy and administrative perspectives. In response to the growth of the industry, the program also draws on research from related fields. Our goal is to provide students with a thorough perspective as well as the ability to analyze both internal management structures and external environment of communications, telecommunications, and the Internet.

Integrated Communications Studies

The program deepens students' understanding of related theories and practical application in advertising and public relations. It also provides students with the opportunity to meet and interact with professionals in aesthetic and design industries by arranging seminars on digital content, arts management, experiential marketing, aesthetic economics, and the creative and cultural industries.

Cross-Strait Strategic Communications

Since Taiwan and China are geographically close and has regular contacts, cross-strait strategic communications has become an important research field. This program has been developed by our graduate institute to extend our research to a new level. Based on the research in the Chinese society, we also aim to integrate communication studies with other disciplines, creating invaluable resources for our college and other specialties at the university. Students will be trained to observe and research on the communication phenomena in the Chinese society, especially in Taiwan and China. Students who are interested in understanding the current situation of cross-strait strategic communications are also welcome.

Science and Risk Communication

The program allows students to design a personalized and interdisciplinary course of study which does not subject to the limitations of the core curriculum arrangements.
