The Master's Program in Communication at National Chengchi University was established in 2014 following the integration of the former Master's programs in Journalism, Advertising, and Radio & Television. The restructuring was approved by the Ministry of Education in 2013 and marked a significant step toward interdisciplinary communication education.

In response to the rapidly evolving communication landscape and the growing need for cross-disciplinary expertise, the program was designed to integrate academic resources across the College of Communication. Its mission is to expand students' intellectual horizons, foster innovative thinking, and prepare future communication professionals for a dynamic and changing media environment.

To provide students with greater flexibility and a more comprehensive learning experience, the curriculum is organized into four clusters: Methods, Theory, Topics, and Electives. Students are also encouraged to design individualized study plans through discussions with faculty members, based on their interests and professional development goals.
